Cooling rectifiers (AC/DC converters)
These devices generate heat loss due to the voltage drop across the semiconductor diodes. Heat sinks prevent overheating and contribute significantly to the longevity of the components. Advances in technology have led to more efficient designs that generate less heat and can be fitted with smaller cooling solutions.
Cooling inverters (DC/AC converters)
Inverters, also known as converters, are key components in the conversion of direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). Their special ability to change the form of energy makes them indispensable for solar systems and electric vehicles. Heat loss is caused by electrical resistance and friction as current flows through the cables, which occurs particularly close to the inverter. Cooling direct current controllers (DC/DC converters)
These electronic circuits convert the DC voltage into a higher or lower voltage. Their speciality lies in their ability to regulate the voltage efficiently. The heat loss is caused by various factors such as switching losses in the transistors, rectification losses, core losses in the transformer and copper losses in the windings and conductor tracks. Cooling AC converters
AC controllers are devices that are used to control the power delivered to a load. To do this, they change the effective value of the voltage and allow precise control of the power output. During operation, as with all current-carrying components, some of the energy is lost as heat. EKL heat sinks quickly absorb this heat loss and, depending on the concept, dissipate it by convection to the air or to cooling plates through which liquid flows.
Cooling switched-mode power supplies
Switch-mode power supplies are known for their high efficiency and compact design. They operate at high frequencies, which enables smaller transformers.
